Seashore Trolley Museum honored as "Editor's Pick"
in 1999 Yankee Travel Guide
Kennebunkport, MAINE - The Seashore Trolley Museum has again been honored by being named as an "Editors Pick" in the 1999 Yankee Travel Guide. 250,000 copies of the Yankee Travel Guide are now being distributed via newsstands across the Northeast. This year's Travel Guide reads, "Dozens of historic trolleys have avoided smelters and rebirth as kitchen appliances by finding a home at this museum, celebrating its 60th anniversary. Admission includes unlimited excursions on the 2-mile track."
The Seashore Trolley Museum has been selected as an "editor's pick" for three years now and this year was recognized along with three other Kennebunkport businesses including Grissini's, Tides Inn-by-the-Sea, and The White Barn Inn.
The Seashore Trolley Museum is the worlds oldest & largest museum of mass transit vehicles and is home to the National Collection of Historic American Streetcars. Located on Log Cabin Road in Kennebunkport Maine, the museum houses trolleys and streetcars that once plied the streets of Americas greatest cities, plus many more from around the world. Visitors can explore the museums exhibit barn and even be a "Motorman" and drive one of the 20-ton trolleys. This living history museum offers a nostalgic journey into the past and a living memory of the grand trolley era for all ages to enjoy.
