Biddeford & Saco Railroad Co. Trolley Car #31 designated as an Official Project of SAVE AMERICA'S TREASURES

SEASHORE TROLLEY MUSEUM:  The Seashore Trolley Museum's Biddeford & Saco Railroad Co. Trolley Car #31 has been selected as an Official Project of Save America's Treasures.  Save America's Treasures is a public-private partnership between the White House Millennium Council and the National Trust for Historic Preservation dedicated to the preservation of our nation's irreplaceable historic and cultural treasures for future generations.

"We are extremely excited to receive this national recognition," commented Seashore Trolley Museum Executive Director Phil Morse. "Car 31, celebrating her 100th birthday this year, was our first car and the car that began the world wide trolley preservation movement."

The Seashore Trolley Museum is the world’s oldest & largest museum of mass transit vehicles and is home to the National Collection of American Streetcars. Located on Log Cabin Road in Kennebunkport Maine, the museum houses trolleys and streetcars that once plied the streets of America’s greatest cities, plus many more from around the world. Visitors can explore the museum’s exhibit barn, ride the scenic trolleys, browse the trolley library and watch cars being restored in the restoration shop. For the price of $40, one can "Be-A-Motorman” and drive one of the 20-ton trolleys. This living history museum offers a nostalgic journey into the past and a living memory of the grand trolley era for all ages to enjoy.

For additional information on how you can support this historic project please call Phil Morse at the Trolley Museum at 207-967-2712 or visit them on the web at www.trolleymuseum.org.
