The above picture was taken Wednesday at Everett Shops during a project day to remove the roof equipment from our two Flyer Trackless
Trolleys, No.'s 4013 and 4028. As we plan to move these coaches via
Landol trailer, they would be too high with the poles, bases and cowls
attached. I would like to thank Chuck Griffith, Corey Connors-Reynolds,
Jack Coyle, Danny Cohen, John Arico and his friend Matt for a most
productive day. We now need to change out the tires and then the coaches will be ready to transport.
Chuck also went to check on our RTS No. 8400 and to his surprise found the driver's seat missing! Apparently there is a shortage of driver's
seats at the T and they have been removing them from scrap buses, and someone
accidently took ours. So, Chuck and I did some driving around and
finally found a willing donor in bus 8018 and quickly had
it unbolted and reinstalled in No. 8400. We then found the necessary air
fittings to hook it back up since they had cut the airline when removing the seat.
We have finally obtained all the necessary approvals from the MBTA to move these vehicles as well, so things are starting to come together.
Now, if it would just stop snowing...
