No. 615 was built by Wason in 1920 for the Portland Railroad Company in Maine. Unlike the other two Birneys in Seashore's collection, which used modified K-10 controllers from retired old style four wheel cars, No. 615 had the specially designed K-63BR safety controller. The car was sold second hand to the Biddeford & Saco Railroad in 1936. The museum purchased the body of the car in 1941 for eventual restoration to operating condition. It was the last car to come to the museum before World War II halted the acquisition program for several years.
