CANADA

Boxcab, Montreal's Suburban Electrics. When this program was taped in 1989, Montreal's boxcabs were the oldest locomotives in regular service in North America. Built in 1914 by General Electric, and 1924 by the English Electric Company, these elderly locomotives, together with some 1950 GE steeple cabs, held down the busy rush hour suburban service.

Conrail's Boston & Albany Through a Trainman's Eyes  Gary Gurske often took his video camera to work as a trainman for Conrail's Boston line. As a member of the Worcester crew pool, he was called for trains from Guilford's Ayer yard to Selkirk and return. These are his memories as represented by train SEMA in 1990. The program covers Selkirk Yard, the Selkirk branch and the Boston and Albany between Post Road and Worcester. Also featured is the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus blue unit train.
