The tape starts off with views of the Springfield Terminal Railway Company. This line offered passenger service until 1947 and electric freight service until 1956. Scenes show the passenger equipment and freight service on the line in the 1940s.

We visit Sanford, Maine for a quick look at the last trolley line in Maine, the York Utilities Company.
